GLX, EGL: Support NV_robustness_video_memory_purge
Chrome is showing rendering issues on Linux/Nvidia after returning from
the lock screen. This could be related to the fact that Nvidia drivers
are not able to guarantee conformance after certain events.
By exposing this extension, we can instruct Chrome to reinitialize
contexts after they are purged by the driver. If this is not explicitly
requested, we can still generate an UnknownContextReset to tell apps
to discard the invalid context anyway.

Cache BlitGL initialization state with a single bool.
We used to cache initializatin per-resource and check each one for
every operation. This was slower and more error prone, the
mSRGBMipmapGenerationFormat was computed every time.

Populate LevelInfoGL's format/internalFormat in eglBindTexImage.
Previously GL_NONE were being used, causing
nativegl::SupportsNativeRendering to think the bound texture wasn't
renderable, and TextureGL::copySubTextureHelper (called via
CopyTexSubImageCHROMIUM) to use CPU readback. This affected the WebGL
DrawingBuffer's premultiplyAlpha:false code path.

GLX: Workaround to disable GLX_OML_sync_control support.
Some users on Linux/Wayland are reporting issues rendering Chrome
unusable when ANGLE exposes GLX_OML_sync_control. This CL adds a new
feature to ANGLE to disable this extension, but for now we leave the
feature off by default, so users can test it via command line flags.

GL: Work around Mac glBindBufferRange issue.
Mac GL drivers generat errors when binding transform feedback buffers
with glBindBufferBase/glBindBufferRange when the buffer has not been
bound to any binding point before. Work around this by simply binding
the buffer first.

Ensure a CGL context is current for WindowSurfaceCGL.
WindowSurfaceCGL does quite a bit of emulation using GL textures and
renderbuffers but some of these operations need to happen during EGL
functions when there may be no native context current.
Add a helper that ensures a context is current for operations that
manipulate GL objects.

DebugAnnotator uses a global variable. The test runner doesn't change
state between testing different back-ends. This works-around the
problem by setting the global variable when the context is switched.
Because the GL back-end doesn't have its own DebugAnnotator sub-class,
add a Display* to DisplayImpl::makeCurrent(), so that
DisplayGL::makeCurrent() can install the front-end-Display's
DebugAnnotator.
Note: the Vulkan back-end gets this fix even though the new
DebugAnnotatorVk class will be added in a follow-on CL.

Distinguish MSRTT renderbuffers in the front-end
glRenderbufferStorageMultisampleEXT has different semantics from
glRenderbufferStorageMultisample. This change makes this
differentiation in the front-end and passes a flag to the backends.
This extension is currently only supported on Vulkan and D3D backends.
Support for the former will be done in a follow up. Support for the
latter is not planned.

Flush less frequently in QueryGL.
StandardQueryGL flushes with every pause/resume/end operation to make
sure the list of pending queries does not grow too large. This ended
up trying to flush the queries as soon as they were ended and unlikely
to have results ready.
Add a threshold of pending queries before flushing, hopefully delaying
the flush calls until the queries are ready.
This is a speculative fix for a GPU hang in query flushing.

OpenGL: Get VendorID and DeviceID with angle::GetSystemInfo()
Previously on the OpenGL backend we get the device ID with funtion
GetDeviceID() which just supports a few types of devices. This patch
fixes this issue by using angle::GetSystemInfo() instead.

Workaround bogus MscRate reported by some XWayland drivers.
XWayland defaults to a 1hz refresh rate when the surface is not
visible, but this can sometimes cause issues in Chrome. If we see
a bogus rate like that, ANGLE can just report 30hz.

Pass the Command when sync'ing dirty objects
A new enum is being created that contains command types, which are then
passed to each dirty object when they are synced. This allows the
syncState() methods to perform special handling for each command type.
This change is in preparation for optimizing resolving multisample
images with glBlit, since the render pass needs to be updated before
it's ended.

Vulkan: Support ANGLE_external_objects_flags
With this extension, it is possible to import Vulkan images into ANGLE
(similar to EXT_external_objects) while specifying the Vulkan create and
usage flags used to create that image. This can be used by the
application to drop usage flags it does not need to improve performance,
or add create flags as it requires.

Allow GetSystemInfo to return false in CGL and EAGL backends.
This API is documented as returning false if information is
incomplete, but this should not cause a failure to initialize ANGLE's
Display. This change is a refinement of one made in WebKit's
downstream copy of ANGLE, likely in support of forthcoming Macs with

Reland: Refactor DisplayGbm::generateConfigs
We should explicitly set EGL_SURFACE_TYPE to EGL_DONT_CARE.
Otherwise, it's default value is EGL_WINDOW_BIT. However,
on some platforms, only EGL_PBUFFER_BIT is supported.
In this case, no matching config is found. So mWindowSurface
and mPbufferSurface will be nullptr. That's why we see
the bot failed.

GL: Fix issue with EXTBlendFuncExtendedES3DrawTest
The call to glBindFragDataLocationIndexedEXT was not being properly
forwarded through ANGLE because we assumed that if its location was
set, then its index was set, which is not always the case.
Fixed this, and also added a link status check after linking so the
error will properly propagate in the future.

Vulkan: Make texture syncState aware of upcoming generateMipmap
By letting TextureVk::syncState know it's being called for
generateMipmap, it can make a better decision to initialize the image:
- Staged updates to mips that are going to be overwritten are dropped
- The image is created with full mipchain to avoid a redefine in the
following generateMipmap() call.

Improve EGL_ANGLE_power_preference on dual-GPU MacBook Pros.
Add the ability to release and reacquire the high-power GPU, and to
respond to changes in the active GPU. In Chromium, the GPU process can
not access the WindowServer. An external process must inform ANGLE
that the active GPU has changed, and that ANGLE should switch its
internal context to the new GPU.
Incorporates a couple of functions from WebKit, used with permission,
to effect this GPU switch.
A follow-on change in Chromium which uses these new APIs will make the
existing dual-GPU tests pass with ANGLE and the passthrough command
decoder.
Carry forward Chromium's workaround of disabling GPU switching on
older MacBook Pros to ensure stability.
Document the process of adding new EGL extensions to ANGLE.

Both DisplayOzone and DisplayGLX have SwapControlData declared and
defined. In the future, when both of them will be compiled
(DisplayGLX will be required for Ozone/X11), they will result
in a compilation error stating about multiple definitions of the
struct.
Thus, move that rendergl_utils.

Add egl::ShareGroup class to abstract the share context group
Vulkan backend has a barrier tracker that tracks memory barrier needs of
all shared resources. Because the buffer/texture objects are shared
resources within a shared group, the tracker can not live in a context.
Putting it in a device/renderer requires locks. It fits perfectly in a
shareGroup object. The work is already done at API level to handle the
mutex lock for shared context access so that no extra lock needs to be
taken in the backend. This CL adds egl::ShareGroup class that represents
the object that are shared among all share context group. At the front
end this usually will include all the shared resource managers (not done
in this CL). The ShareGroup object is accessible from gl::State object.
This CL also adds ability for backend driver to allocate implementation
specific ShareGroupImpl object. Vulkan backend will then use it to keeps
the barrier tracker and other things that naturally fits the share group
concept.

As we are approaching the point when DisplayGLX will be compiled
in Ozone/X11 configuration, we need to resolve compilation errors.
Ozone has intptr_t EGLNativeDisplayType whereas X11 requires

Emulate the LUMINANCE, ALPHA and LUMINANCE_ALPHA formats with
GL_RED/GL_RG textures on platforms that don't support the

TextureGL's luminance/alpha emulation where it would use desktop
GL functionality on GLES.
This change makes WebKit on iOS pass WebGL's

Respect IOSurface stride
In the iOS simulator we use glReadPixels to transfer rendered pixels to
the IOSurface. We need to account for the possibility of the row stride
not being equal to the width, because that happens sometimes. It's
currently causing corrupt rendering in Google Maps on WebKit.

Implement GL_APPLE_clip_distance
- Built-in variable gl_ClipDistance has been added to compiler.
- Desktop GL: gl_ClipDistance is supported since GL 3.0. Enable/Disable
each gl_ClipDistances[i] works out of the box via glEnable().
- Vulkan/Metal: Use uniform variable to control writing to each
gl_ClipDistance. One bit flag controls one element in the gl_ClipDistance
array. The writing to the disabled element in vertex shader will be
ignored, and turned into zero assignment instead.
- Direct3D/Mobile GL: Not implemented yet.
- Added ClipDistanceTest to gl_tests and compiler unittests.
- GL_APPLE_clip_distance is a subset of GL_EXT_clip_cull_distance, so
GL_EXT_clip_cull_distance could be implemented in future if needed.

This workaround is needed when the GL driver is less than 4.3 (all
MacOS). The driver will generate many errors during execution without
this enabled which blocks GL driver error checking.

Apply limitMaxMSAASamplesTo4 workaround to macOS.
On dual-GPU MacBook Pros, the maximum number of supported samples can
differ between the integrated and discrete GPUs, leading to unexpected
OpenGL errors in applications. Detected with WebGL conformance tests
in Safari with ANGLE as the WebGL backend.
