Bootstrap pixel local storage
This CL creates a very simple prototype that implements pixel local
storage in a thin layer on top of ES 3.1 shader images, and adds a
single test.
Assuming all goes well on the various devices and backends, the next
steps will be:
* Write many more tests.
* Compiler support, switch to API-specific shader images.
* Move the thin layer into ANGLE.
* Thorough validation and error handling.
* Add an implementation that uses render target attachments
(e.g., EXT_shader_framebuffer_fetch).
* Incremental, backend-specific optimizations as needed.

Add ForceGPUSwitch to EGL_ANGLE_power_preference
eglHandleGPUSwitch() does not work with WebKit sandbox profile.
The root cause is that we do not know the
primary display, and as such we do not know which GPU drives this.
Add eglForceGPUSwitchANGLE(display, gpuIDHigh, gpuIDLow).
This lets the caller figure out the GPU in another process. Then
the caller can just set the GPU in the sandboxed process.
Add tests that are disabled by default until the runner and the
infrastructure supports running the tests with automatic switching
enabled.

Vulkan: Expose performance counters via extension.
This CL rewrites the Vulkan perf counters test to work in the
angle_end2end_test suite using the newly exposed AMD extension.
Note that we implement only a subset of the extension. Instead
of generating monitors and starting/stopping them we simply
read back all performance counter data at once using the special
montior value "0".
The CL also enables these tests on SwiftShader.

Add keying on backend to ANGLE Display caching.
Webkit needs to use one ANGLE display with OpenGL and another with
Metal. Our display caching is interfering with this, so it should
be updated to also key on the selected backend.

Adjust compressed texture validation; add test
- Format check happens before target check to accommodate
for unknown / disabled format enums.
- PVRTC1 and ETC1 enums are not allowed for 2D Array
and 3D targets.
- PVRTC1 sRGB formats require enabling two extensions.
- New noCompressedTexture3D limitation for older Metal
versions.
The test checks that only the appropriate entry points
are affected after enabling compressed texture extensions.

This extension currently has no known users and doubles the
number of entry points that ANGLE exports which is a significant
binary size cost.

Add multi-thread/context test for compute shaders
The "Ragnarok M: Eternal Love" game uncovered a bug where 2 contexts
shared a VkCommandBuffer. The one context was used by one thread for
rendering, and the other context/thread dispatched compute shaders.
When the rendering thread destroyed a VkCommandBuffer, future compute
dispatches crashed because the new VkCommandBuffer didn't have a
compute pipeline bound.

Add comprehensive memory barrier tests
Optimizing glMemoryBarrier can get very tricky. This change adds tests
for every glMemoryBarrier bit in different scenarios for a total of
about 1500 tests. With the current implementation, there are no syncval
errors running these tests.

Descriptor pools need to live as long as the descriptor sets that are
allocated from them. Using Serials while building a command to judge a
pool's lifetime is prone to errors, since a command's Serial value
isn't known until the command is submitted, leading to deleting pools
too early relative to when the descriptor set is actually used.
This CL updates DescriptorPoolHelper to inherit from Resource, so the
descriptor pools can be retain()'ed. This allows the Resource's counter
to indicate that a pool is in use until the command's Serial is known
and can be recorded to indicate when the command completes. This
prevents descriptor pools from being destroyed before the command
completes (while the descriptor sets are still in use), or even before
the command has been submitted. Destroying a descriptor pool resets all
of the descriptors that were allocated from it, which can trigger a
variety of VVL errors depending on when it's erroneously performed.
This CL also adds the necessary retain() calls for the descriptor pools.

Expose glGetTexLevelParameter{if}v before ES 3.1.
Add a new extension, ANGLE_get_tex_level_parameter which allows
users to query texture size and format information before ES 3.1.
This is very useful for re-using existing textures instead of
re-allocating.

Support DXT textures with non-block sized mip levels.
The block size requirement for each mip level meant that all
DXT textures had to be POT sized. Relax these restrictions for
non-zero mip levels to allow NPOT DXT textures.
Increase the size of the D3D11 staging textures to the nearest
block size to make sure allocation succeeds.

Reference count context to fix ASAN issues
Running with ASAN there are several use after free issues because a
eglDestroyContext destroys the context right away even though it's in
use in other thread(s). Adding reference count to context so that it's
not destroyed until all users are done using it.

Reland "Add support for GL_CHROMIUM_texture_filtering"
This is a reland of 38780ae3921d2570316119a881adfb9520e7e296 modulo the
changes to disable VK_VALIDATION_FEATURE_DISABLE_UNIQUE_HANDLES_EXT, as
this was causing problems. With this landed, the extension will not work
on SwiftShader until we find a way to allow this extension through the
validation layers.

Unset the ActiveTextureCache entry if the program does not reference it
When changing uniforms of a program, State::onActiveTextureChange is
called to update the ActiveTextureCache. If the sampler uniform type
changes to TextureType::InvalidEnum, the entry in ActiveTextureCache was
not cleared. This causes stale entries in ActiveTextureCache because the
cache no longer matches what textures are bound and the cache does not
add references to the textures in it.

Implement GL_APPLE_clip_distance
- Built-in variable gl_ClipDistance has been added to compiler.
- Desktop GL: gl_ClipDistance is supported since GL 3.0. Enable/Disable
each gl_ClipDistances[i] works out of the box via glEnable().
- Vulkan/Metal: Use uniform variable to control writing to each
gl_ClipDistance. One bit flag controls one element in the gl_ClipDistance
array. The writing to the disabled element in vertex shader will be
ignored, and turned into zero assignment instead.
- Direct3D/Mobile GL: Not implemented yet.
- Added ClipDistanceTest to gl_tests and compiler unittests.
- GL_APPLE_clip_distance is a subset of GL_EXT_clip_cull_distance, so
GL_EXT_clip_cull_distance could be implemented in future if needed.

Refactor ANGLE common test utils.
This reduces code duplication by including a common set of sources in a
single place. New test sets will be a bit easier to add. It also
encapsulates the dependencies a bit better when we pull the test utils
out of the test targets.
Unblocks a follow-up CL that moves the trace perf test sources into
their own file so we can re-enable optimizations in the main perf test
target.
New warnings popped up in a few of the files because of the new source
set enabling more warnings. This CL also fixes all of those.

Add Android boot animation and rounding error test
This introduces an end2end test that makes the same GLES1
calls as Android's default boot animation. The test uses
images of much smaller sizes, but we do the same thing
with the images as the original code (it uses one image as a
mask and moves the other along behind it).
The original default boot animation code can be found here:

This change also implements glTexParameterx since the default boot
animation requires it. This function is part of OES_FIXED_POINT.
This also includes a test to check for int to floating point cast errors
when using GL_TEXTURE_CROP_RECT_OES.

Return the correct location count for Matrices
GetLocationCount() is currently returning the number of rows in the
matrix, rather than the columns, which leads to shader validation
errors (and test failures). This fix returns the number of columns

Implement SamplerVideoWEBGL for WEBGL_video_texture extension on desktop
WEBGL_video_texture is an extension that will improve uploading video frame to WebGL performance.
(https://www.khronos.org/registry/webgl/extensions/proposals/WEBGL_video_texture/)
This extension introduced a new texture type TEXTURE_VIDEO_IMAGE_WEBGL and a new sampler type
samplerVideoWEBGL to sample it.
In chromium implementation, TEXTURE_VIDEO_IMAGE_WEBGL maps to different native texture type
based on platform. On desktop, it maps to GL_TEXTURE2D(Currently supported). On Android, it
should map to GL_TEXTURE_EXTERNAL(TODO). SamplerVideoWEBGL needs to be mapped to sampler2D or
samplerExternalOES according to TEXTURE_VIDEO_IMAGE_WEBGL implementation.
This patch implements samplerVideoWEBGL in Angle to support WEBGL_video_texture on desktop. In
this case, samplerVideoWEBGL should map to sampler2D.

Vulkan: Isolate DisplayVk.h from Display.cpp.
With this change we no longer can access Vulkan (or Volk) headers
in the ANGLE front-end. The only header that needs to be visible is
the new "DisplayVk_api.h".
This will simplify a bit of Volk integration.
Also reworks how the entry points and headers are exposed to the tests.

For textures that use this extension, a multisampled texture is
implicitly created for the texture.
Upon write or read, the multisampled texture is either return

This patch implements functionality of glDrawArraysInstancedBaseInstanceANGLE,

Workaround for OpenGL driver on Mac:
gl_VertexID on Mac with AMD GPU doesn't include baseVertex value.
So replace gl_VertexID with (gl_VertexID + angle_BaseVertex) if any.
Workaround for Vulkan GLSL:
gl_InstanceIndex on Vulkan includes baseInstance. So replace
gl_InstanceIndex with (gl_InstanceIndex - angle_BaseInstance) when
angle_BaseInstance is declared.

GL: Add extensions to enable hardware video decode on Android.
The Android SurfaceTexture API has to be initialized with a texture id
which Chrome has to query from an ANGLE external texture. It also
rebinds and sets the texture dimensions on calls to
SurfaceTexture.updateTexImage so ANGLE must be notified about these
changes so that state tracking and validation continue to function.

Vulkan: Add support for surface multisampling
A multisample image is created for the surface if multisampling is
enabled. Prior to present, this multisample image is resolved into the
swapchain image.
FramebufferVk::readPixelsImpl similarly has got the ability to resolve
the region of interest into a temporary image prior to readback.
Tests are added to render a point, line and a triangle on a 4x
multisampled surface.

Vulkan: Implement glImportMemoryFdEXT
Allow importing opaque file descriptors into memory objects on linux.
Currently this just holds onto the file descriptor rather than calling

Remove EGLThreadTest to fix angle_end2end_tests failures on Android.
EGLThreadTest doesn't clean up well and the test framework can't handle
it well. It caused test failures related to eglMakeCurrent (ELG_BAD_ACCESS)
on Android that were masked by retries.
Calling eglGetDisplay within a test can cause it to return a cached
display from the test runner. The test is unable to know if it should
terminate this display.

Fix eglChooseConfig for attributes that have exact default values.
The implementation of eglChooseConfig does not match the
specification for attributes not provided by the calling function. It
is supposed to use the default value and match semantics, per the
specification. This is fine for many attributes (where the value in
the EGLConfig doesn't matter). Currently, this affects the following
attributes:
- EGL_COLOR_BUFFER_TYPE
- EGL_LEVEL
- EGL_RENDERABLE_TYPE
- EGL_SURFACE_TYPE
- EGL_TRANSPARENT_TYPE
- EGL_OPTIMAL_SURFACE_ORIENTATION_ANGLE
- EGL_COLOR_COMPONENT_TYPE_EXT
This change causes 55 of 65 of the dEQP-EGL.functional.choose_config.* tests
to start passing.

GLES1: dirty bit pass
This CL introduces a coarse layer of dirty bits and on-demand sending of
some uniforms to the underlying driver, instead of sending all uniforms
every draw, which should improve performance in cases where not much is
changing between draws.

Implement EGL_KHR_fence_sync and EGL_KHR_wait_sync
EGL_KHR_fence_sync introduces the EGLSync object and associated
create/destroy/clientWait functions. EGL_KHR_wait_sync adds the
serverWait function on top of that.

Vulkan: add depth-only or stencil-only tests
These tests make sure that a depth- or stencil-only format that is
emulated with a depth/stencil one does not affect clear/draw in such a
way that it would expose the hidden aspect.
By nature of the emulation, it's not trivial to read back the hidden
aspect. This test simply makes sure the hidden aspect doesn't affect
rendering, but is not a definitive test of correctness.

Run DifferentStencilMasks tests
This test was added and referenced, but was actually never added to the
list of files to be compiled. The most recent validation work has been
regarding WebGL.
This test verifies the behavior when different stencil masks are set for
front and back faces, which is unsupported in D3D and disallowed in
WebGL. In the interest of running the test on all back ends, and that
the validation was modified last to improve WebGL support, the test runs
in WebGL compatibility mode.

Add support for EXT_texture_compression_bptc
After validation, the enums are simply forwarded to the native
drivers. The BPTC formats are supported on both OpenGL and D3D.
The included test coverage covers the API quite well, but only has
basic coverage for correct decoding of texture data. More coverage for
texture data could be added later.

Reland "Support EXT_blend_func_extended in the GLES2 context"
This re-lands EXT_blend_func_extended implementation. A lot of the
implementation has been rewritten on top of changes that have been
done since the last attempt.
For now we only expose the extension on desktop GL. To support GLES,
we'd need to investigate what's the most robust way to handle the
compiler output and make the binding of the fragment outputs
conditional.
The extension is disabled on AMD and Intel because of test failures.

Add support for EGL_ANDROID_blob_cache
The functionality of MemoryProgramCache is divided up in two. BlobCache
is now a generic binary cache, which interfaces with the callbacks from
EGL_ANDROID_blob_cache. MemoryProgramCache handles program
[de]serialization and interacts with BlobCache.

Rename .gypi -> .gni.
Rename and reformat all gyp files. They were previously converted to
gn but not renamed to preserve continuity in git. This rename completes
the removal of all traces of gyp.
