Jim Meyering d60f3b0c 2011-01-01T20:17:23 maint: update almost all copyright ranges to include 2011 Run the new "make update-copyright" rule.
Jim Meyering d3d059cf 2010-05-03T18:30:38 test-xalloc-die: avoid unwarranted test failure on OpenSolaris 5.11 * tests/test-xalloc-die.sh: Redirect stdout before stderr, (i.e., "> out 2> err", rather than "2> err > out"). Otherwise, with /bin/sh on OpenSolaris 5.11 snv_134, we would end up with a stray "1> out" line in the "err2" output file when running "make check" in verbose mode (i.e., with set -x enabled).
Simon Josefsson fc80165c 2010-01-12T15:31:07 tests/test-xalloc-die.sh: Use $EXEEXT.
Jim Meyering b2e2010c 2010-01-01T10:31:12 update nearly all FSF copyright year lists to include 2010 Use the same procedure as for 2009, outlined in http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.gnulib.bugs/20081
Jim Meyering 5aad650f 2009-12-08T20:37:50 init.sh: avoid Solaris 10 /bin/sh portability problem Solaris 10's /bin/sh does not pass '.' arguments 2..N to the sourced script: $ printf 'echo "$@"\n' > f; /bin/sh -c '. ./f bar' $ printf 'echo "$@"\n' > f; bash -c '. ./f bar' bar tests/init.sh relied on that, accepting a --set-path=DIR argument, and two tests used that idiom. * tests/init.sh: Update suggested usage comments. (path_prepend_): New function, to be used in place of the --src-path=DIR option. Disallow empty strings and strings containing ":". (setup_): Move PATH-prepending code into path_prepend_. * tests/test-pread.sh: Adapt to new usage. * tests/test-xalloc-die.sh: Likewise.
Eric Blake a4cfedb0 2009-12-05T09:24:54 test-xalloc-die: fix test for mingw When cross-compiling on mingw to target mingw, argv[0] still includes a .exe suffix. Rather than worry about ${EXEEXT}, just add a sed post-process. Also, simplify the script by using tests/init.sh. * modules/xalloc-die-tests (Files): Add tests/init.sh. * tests/test-xalloc-die.sh: Rewrite to use init.sh. Strip directory and .exe suffix off argv[0] output. Signed-off-by: Eric Blake <ebb9@byu.net>
Jim Meyering fed81b33 2009-11-27T10:19:32 test-xalloc-die: avoid spurious failure due to libtool argv difference In a libtool-enabled project, this test would fail due to a difference in the emitted program name, e.g., -test-xalloc-die: memory exhausted +/tmp/.../tests/.libs/lt-test-xalloc-die: memory exhausted Use program to avoid that. * modules/xalloc-die-tests (Depends-on): Add progname. * tests/test-xalloc-die.c: Include progname.h". (program_name): Remove decl. (main): Call set_program_name. * tests/test-xalloc-die.sh (compare): Remove unnecessary ${EXE}.
Eric Blake 89fe4c9d 2009-11-17T11:38:42 xalloc-die-tests: optimize * tests/test-xalloc-die.sh: Reduce number of processes. Signed-off-by: Eric Blake <ebb9@byu.net>
Simon Josefsson 3e00f5fc 2009-11-17T19:58:12 tests/test-xalloc-die.sh: Deal with EOL differences, and more.
Jim Meyering eedd7fff 2009-11-17T08:46:29 test-xalloc-die.sh: make the code agree with the commit log * tests/test-xalloc-die.sh: Put "." at the front of $PATH, not at the end, just in case you happen to have a test-xalloc-die program in some other PATH directory.
Jim Meyering 67bcb9c5 2009-11-17T08:42:58 test-xalloc-die.sh: fix a portability bug * tests/test-xalloc-die.sh: Do not invoke via ./test-xalloc-die. Instead, set PATH to start with "." and invoke via "test-xalloc-die". Otherwise, argv[0] (as often seen in diagnostics) would be too system-dependent, sometimes with, and sometimes without the leading "./".
Eric Blake a77f03bc 2009-11-16T21:21:10 xalloc-die-tests: avoid printing null pointer The test leaked "(null): memory exhausted" to stderr, or crashed for less capable printf. * modules/xalloc-die-tests (Files, Makefile.am): Wrap execution in shell script. * tests/test-xalloc-die.c (program_name): Declare. * tests/test-xalloc-die.sh (tmpfiles): New file.
