Revert "[null] Silence undefined-behavior complaints with too-small null bytes" This reverts commit 911c76abcdfe89770b252eb0d4eb621c0db00ad5. Broke tests. I'm not sure I understand why. At any rate, this was a bad way to fix. I'll look into understanding as well as better fix.
