Suppress unsafe buffers on a file-by-file basis in src/ [1 of N]
In this CL, we suppress many files but stop short of actually
enabling the warning by not removing the line from the
unsafe_buffers_paths.txt file. That will happen in a follow-on
CL, along with resolving any stragglers missed here.
This is mostly a manual change so as to familiarize myself with
the kinds of issues faced by the Angle codebase when applying buffer
safety warnings.
-- Re-generate affected hashes.
-- Clang-format applied to all changed files.
-- Add a few missing .reserve() calls to vectors as noticed.
-- Fix some mismatches between file names and header comments.
-- Be more consistent with header comment format (blank lines and
trailing //-only lines when a filename comment adjoins license
boilerplate).

Metal: Clear depth pbuffers to 1 for robust init
Robust resource initialization would init depth pbuffers as 0.0

Allow the backend to do resource init for framebuffers.
The frontend framebuffer would loop through attachments which needed to
be initialized and call initializeContents on them individually. For
the GL backend this is inefficient because each of these resources is
bound to a scratch framebuffer and cleared when the entire original
framebuffer could have been cleared at once.
The frontend now accumulates a set of attachments that need to be
cleared and sends it to the FramebufferImpl. The default
FramebufferImpl does the old logic of calling initializeContents on
each attachment. FramebufferGL has an optimized path to clear the
whole framebuffer if possible.

Autogenerate list of features as enum
The WithX() and WithNoX() helpers are removed and replaced with enable()
and disable() member functions that take the name of the feature (as a
Feature::X enum constant). This has two benefits:
- Adding tests that override a feature no longer requires additional
helper functions to be written.
- There's no mistaking the feature name.
This change doesn't yet fix the main issue in anglebug.com/6435, but
does fix the following helpers using an old feature name (so they were
ineffective):
- WithMetalForcedBufferGPUStorage
- WithNoVulkanViewportFlip
A follow up would remove the old way of overriding features in tests and
replaces them with the new way.

Vulkan: Create buffer for vertex array if robust enabled
If robust access is enabled (i.e., chrome), we want to ensure vulkan
driver never access beyond that OpenGL buffer boundary. But with
suballocation from BufferPool, we are using the same VkBuffer for all
suballocations from the same BufferBlock. this combined with the fact
that there is no size information in the vkCmdBindVertexBuffers, it
means vulkan driver can not properly ensure vertex access not go beyond
the subrange. It can only guarantee not access beyond the entire
VkBuffer size. This CL creates a dedicated vkBuffer object and bind it
to the suballocation of the vkDeviceMemory so that vulkan driver will
see the exact range of the subrange instead of entire buffer. Since we
may allocated more memory than actual requested size and the extra
paddings are not zero filled , user size is used to create this
vkBuffer. This is only enabled when robust access is enabled.
This CL also ported webgl conformance test
out-of-bounds-index-buffers.html and out-of-bounds-array-buffers.html
to end2end test.

Enable direct-to-metal backend by default
We are switching over to Apple's direct-to-metal backend instead
of generating SPIRV in the metal backend. This CL enables the
direct-to-metal generation by default, but the SPIRV backend is
still accessible by overriding the feature directMetalGeneration.
This CL comes with a change in test expectations to catch new
failures and clean up newly passing tests.

Disable GL_APPLE_clip_distance when the direct-to-Metal compiler is

memcmp is used which also compares the extra bytes in the aliasing color

Metal: Fix 2D array texture's robust resource init
2D array texture's robust resource init didn't work due to
mtl::InitializeTextureContents() expects one slice at a time, however
TextureMtl::initializeContents() created entire layers index via

Add Queries and Setters for resource initialization state.
There are cases where we know that the next draw operation will fully
initialize a texture/renderbuffer and we can save the robust resource
init cost.
Default all resource init state to Initialized, any redefinition will
set it back to MayNeedInit.
After setting an individual texture image to initialized, check if
all images are now initialized and update the TextureState::mInitState
to match. The cost of this check is only performed after initializing
an image and allows future init checks to be faster.

Fix clearing compressed textures with Vulkan backend
When making sure a texture's data is initialized in ANGLE, it
is illegal to attempt to clear it when using the Vulkan backend.
The Vulkan spec, regarding vkCmdClearColorImage, mentions that:
"image must not have a compressed or depth/stencil format"
The proper way of initializing the memory of a compressed image
in Vulkan is to do a buffer to image copy instead. This was added
to ImageHelper::stageRobustResourceClear() so that it may now
handle compressed textures properly.

Vulkan: Clean up robust and emulated image clears.
This change consolidates image clears in multiple places into a single
site in ImageHelper initialization. It adds support for appending clear
image commands as well as prepend (the default). We prepend clears
because image initialization happens after data upload.
The Vulkan robust clear path now works like the other back-ends. The
change flushed out a bug where partially uninitialized CopyTexImage was
not correctly initializing a texture before triggering a full resource
clear. Texture::copyImage now uses a workaround where we first init the
image before clearing it. After the init we upload the new data.
We'll use the appending clears path when implementing deferred clears.

Fix robust resource initialization with clipped CopyTexSubImage2D.
When CopyTexSubImage2D calls were clipped against the bounds of the
read framebuffer by the underlying renderer backends, the robust
resource initialization code assumed that the original destination
area would be overwritten by the renderer, which was not the case.
Add new tests which were previously failing on macOS with the
ES2_OpenGL and ES3_OpenGL backends. The Metal backend is still failing

Vulkan: Add robust init for NULL texture image.
In gl::ReadPixels(), ValidateReadPixels() will try to
flush staged updates before readPixels. In the case
where a texture was initialized with null RGBA data,
no Framebuffer dirty bits are set, and thus the staged
clear would never be flushed from the staged updates.
1. Add robust init in TextureVk::initImage to ensure
image is initialized.
Test: ./angle_end2end_tests --gtest_filter=\
RobustResourceInitTest*_Vulkan_AllocateNonZeroMemory
2. Update stageSubresourceRobustClear() to
kEmulatedInitColorValue in the case where robust resource
was initialized without full RGBA format to update
init value of robust resource.
Test: texture-attachment-formats.html in

Vulkan: Sanitize Images & Buffers with non-zero values.
Only enabled for specific tests at the moment. This CL allows our tests
to sanitizes memory for the robust resource access extension. It is
quite slow so should not be enabled by default.
Only works for 1 level 2D color textures and buffers. Makes several
flaky robust resource initialization tests consistently fail.
Controlled via an angle::Feature in FeaturesVk.
It works by initializing memory to an abitrary non-zero value:
- if newly allocated memory is mappable, we map it in init and set it
- if a buffer or texture can be a transfer destination, we use a
staging resource
- otherwise we don't attempt to initialize the resource.

OpenGL: Remove all attachments before executing internal clear
This patch fixes a bug in BlitGL::clearRenderbuffer() by removing
all the attachments of mScratchFBO before attaching the real
target of clear to keep mScratchFBO always being incomplete.
Without this fix, the WebGL CTS tests mentioned in issue 2760 will
fail on Intel OpenGL drivers when Chromium is using pass through
command buffer because when a multisampled depth renderbuffer is
attached to mScratchFBO, mScratchFBO will sometimes become
incomplete because it may already have a non-multisampled color
attachment.

Reuse angle_end2end_test windows and displays.
This both speeds up test execution and cuts down on the number of new
windows and displays created for a test config. This feature is only
currently enabled for Windows NVIDIA and Intel. On every other config
there were blocking issues that would need investigation. Several tests
were manually flagged as needed new displays on each iteration to
prevent test flakiness.
This feature might fix the issues with Intel test flakiness that have
been prominent on the ANGLE CQ.
WGL configurations have also been removed from ANGLE tests. So this
removes more of the code from ANGLETest.cpp.

Re-land "Load entry points dynamically in tests and samples."
Fixes the Android/ChromeOS/Fuchsia builds by using consistent EGL
headers.
This CL adds a dynamic loader generator based on XML files. It also
refactors the entry point generation script to move the XML parsing
into a helper class.
Additionally this includes a new GLES 1.0 base header. The new
header allows for function pointer types and hiding prototypes.
All tests and samples now load ANGLE dynamically. In the future this
will be extended to load entry points from the driver directly when
possible. This will allow us to perform more accurate A/B testing.
The new build configuration leads to some tests having more warnings
applied. The CL includes fixes for the new warnings.

Load entry points dynamically in tests and samples.

Implement robust initialization for image texture
This change fixes a bug that the image texture initialization time is not
correct. It happens when we use compute shader to write data to an
uninitialized texture, then use readPixels to read the result which
results that texture initialization falls behind image store and
covers the real result.

When using glCopyTexImage2D clearing of the mip level needs to happen
when running in WebGL or robust resource init mode and any pixel would

D3D11: Lazy robust resource init.
This patch moves the robust resource init logic to the GL front-end.
Instead of initializing texture resources immediately on creation in
D3D11, it defers the clear until before a draw call in some cases, or
skips the update if we can determine if a texture (or other resource)
has been fully initialized.
Currently lazy init is only implemented for Textures, Renderbuffers,
and Surfaces.
Various places where lazy resource init is triggered:
* Framebuffer operations (Draw, Blit, CopyTexImage, Clear, ReadPixels)
* Texture operations (SubImage, GenerateMipmap, CopyTexImage)
Some efficiency gains remain to be implemented, such as when a
SubImage call fills the entire object. Similarly for Blit, and a few
other operations. In these cases we can skip lazy init as an
optimization. Edge cases with EGLImage are mostly untested.

D3D11: Make sure to resolve the storage for CopyTexImage3D.
TextureD3D_3D::copySubImage worked around missing functionality in D3D11
for copying a framebuffer directly to a texture storage but didn't handle
the case of a texture storage already existing. This caused the image to
have out-of-date data before the new data was copied into it. Simply copy
the data from the storage back into the image before performing the copy
from the framebuffer and then copy back to the storage afterwards.

Refactor redefineImage and track dirty images properly.
Several issues showed up in testing with WebGL:
* Images should only be forcefully re-defined when there is no data to
upload.
* After an image is marked dirty, a later call to subImage would cause
assertion failures because the texture storage would try to verify that
the image was not dirty, don't try to copy directly to storage in this
case.

D3D11: Default init all textures.
The resource manager factory methods will use ClearView or zero-filled

This is a temporary measure until we can implement more efficient

Implement robust buffer initialization.
This uses the most simple implementation: on BufferData calls without
explicit data arguments, it will initialize the buffer data store to
zero. This could be improved by deferring the init until needed, and
skipping it if the buffer store is cleared through other API calls,
but it is not a regression from current Chromium implementation.

Plumb robust resource init extensions.
This also cleans up a few minor glitches in the extension texts,
and renames the EGL extension for consistency.
It incidentally fixes a bug in our EGL init where we were checking
the wrong client versions for KHR_create_context.
It also implements a new feature for tests which allow them to defer
Context creation until the test body. This allows tests to check for
EGL extension available before trying to create a context with certain
extensions.
