  * m4/amversion.in (AM_AUTOMAKE_VERSION): Point users to
  AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE if the version passed is incorrect.
  * tests/version8.test: New file.
  * tests/Makefile.am (TESTS): Add version8.test.
