DRC 17297239 2022-01-06T09:17:30 Eliminate non-ANSI C compatibility macros libjpeg-turbo has never supported non-ANSI C compilers. Per the spec, ANSI C compilers must have locale.h, stddef.h, stdlib.h, memset(), memcpy(), unsigned char, and unsigned short. They must also handle undefined structures.
DRC 01e30323 2019-01-23T14:58:24 Eliminate support for compilers w/o unsigned char libjpeg-turbo has never really supported such compilers, since (AFAIK) they are non-existent on any modern computing platform and thus impossible for us to test. (Also, the TurboJPEG API would break without unsigned chars.) Furthermore, the unified CMake-based build system introduced in 2.0 always defines HAVE_UNSIGNED_CHAR, so retaining other code paths is pointless. Eliminating support for compilers without unsigned char eliminates the need for the GETJSAMPLE() macro, which improves the readability of many parts of the code as well as improving the performance of writing Targa and Windows BMP files. Fixes #317
DRC 2260b66e 2018-08-31T12:55:33 jconfig.h: restore Autotools compatibility (regression introduced with the CMake-based Un*x build system) Refer to change log for more details. Based on: https://github.com/libjpeg-turbo/libjpeg-turbo/pull/275/commits/d992d12bc7631c29ab4adc42a7c5b4273fe2d56e Closes #275
DRC 293263c3 2018-03-17T15:14:35 Format preprocessor macros more consistently Within the libjpeg API code, it seems to be more the convention than not to separate the macro name and value by two or more spaces, which improves general readability. Making this consistent across all of libjpeg-turbo is less about my individual preferences and more about making it easy to automatically detect variations from our chosen formatting convention. I intend to release the script I'm using to validate this stuff, once it matures and stabilizes a bit.

DRC f06cc120 2016-05-10T19:36:34 Build: Add integer version macro to jconfig.h This makes it significantly easier to do conditional compilation based on the libjpeg-turbo version. Based on: https://github.com/hasinoff/libjpeg-turbo/commit/e6d5b3e50b8b07488cb7b4d26ab2061685bc6875 https://github.com/hasinoff/libjpeg-turbo/commit/1394a89ba6f3cd8abb556c1b65bac4a5f09760d0 Closes #80
DRC 5a3b4fed 2016-01-06T19:17:54 Regression: Allow co-install of 32-bit/64-bit RPMs Fix a regression introduced in 1.4.1 that prevented 32-bit and 64-bit libjpeg-turbo RPMs from being installed simultaneously on recent Red Hat/Fedora distributions. This was due to the addition of the SIZEOF_SIZE_T macro in jconfig.h, which allows the Huffman codec to determine the word size at compile time. Since that macro differs between 32-bit and 64-bit builds, this caused a conflict between the i386 and x86_64 RPMs (any differing files, other than executables, are not allowed when 32-bit and 64-bit RPMs are installed simultaneously.) Since the macro is used only internally, it has been moved into jconfigint.h.
DRC 3ebcc320 2015-05-15T19:09:44 __WORDSIZE doesn't seem to be available on platforms other than Mac or Linux, and best practices are for user-level code not to rely on it anyhow, since it's meant to be an internal macro. Fortunately, autoconf already has a way of determining the word size at configure time, so it can be passed into the compiler. This should work on any platform and has been tested on all of the Un*x platforms we support (Linux, Mac, FreeBSD, Solaris.) git-svn-id: svn+ssh://svn.code.sf.net/p/libjpeg-turbo/code/branches/1.4.x@1550 632fc199-4ca6-4c93-a231-07263d6284db

DRC bc56b754 2014-05-16T10:43:44 Get rid of the HAVE_PROTOTYPES configuration option, as well as the related JMETHOD and JPP macros. libjpeg-turbo has never supported compilers that don't handle prototypes. Doing so requires ansi2knr, which isn't even supported in the IJG code anymore. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://svn.code.sf.net/p/libjpeg-turbo/code/trunk@1308 632fc199-4ca6-4c93-a231-07263d6284db
DRC 52ded876 2014-05-15T20:30:16 Remove all of the NEED_SHORT_EXTERNAL_NAMES stuff. There is scant information available as to which linkers ever had a 15-character global symbol name limit. AFAICT, it might have been a VMS and/or a.out BSD thing, but none of those platforms have ever been supported by libjpeg-turbo (nor are such systems supported by other open source libraries of this nature.) git-svn-id: svn+ssh://svn.code.sf.net/p/libjpeg-turbo/code/trunk@1307 632fc199-4ca6-4c93-a231-07263d6284db
DRC ff6961f3 2014-04-20T09:17:11 This patch accomplishes the following: -- Auto-generates HAVE_LOCALE_H macro and adds it to jconfig.h (this is used by rdjpgcom.c.) -- Reconciles the description and ordering of macros between config.h.in and jconfig.h.in, so the two files can be easily diffed. -- Eliminates the use of the autoheader-generated config.h in the project and moves relevant internal-only macros into a new file, jconfigint.h. This is to avoid "already defined" warnings in files that were including both config.h (to get the internal autotools package information or the INLINE definition) and jconfig.h. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://svn.code.sf.net/p/libjpeg-turbo/code/branches/1.3.x@1258 632fc199-4ca6-4c93-a231-07263d6284db

DRC a7466c9d 2012-01-26T22:20:31 Move INLINE macro into config.h.
