  With the flag `MD_FLAG_LATEXMATHSPANS`, MD4C enables extension for recognition
  of LaTeX style equation spans.
  
  An equation is is any text wrapped in tildes ($ or $$).

  If a double dollar sign is used, the equation is a display equation.
