Vulkan: Add plumbing to render pass when ImageHelper gets deleted
ImageHelper object is not refcounted and garbage collected and
endRenderPass call is deferred until next render pass starts. This
caused a situation that an ImageHelper object gets deleted while still
referenced in the open render pass. This CL make sure that we call into
all shared context's open renderpass when an image goes away so that
they can take appropriate action for this.

Reason for revert: Might actually regress CPU overhead perf.

Vulkan: Add features to modify sampling parameters
Add features to optionally increase the LoD offset of all sampling
operations or disable linear filtering. These can be used to compare
performance without recompiling ANGLE.
These features could be potentially implemented in the frontend it is
more difficult because the features are not available at texture
initialization time.

Vulkan: Use subpass to unresolve render-to-texture attachments
GL_EXT_multisampled_render_to_texture allows singlesampled textures to
be used with multisampled framebuffers in such a way that the final
resolve operation is automatically done. In Vulkan terminology, the
render-to-texture GL attachment is used as a Vulkan subpass resolve
attachment with an implicit (ideally-)lazy-memory multisampled image as
the color attachment.
This extension expects that if the texture is drawn to after the
automatic resolve, the implicit multisampled image would take its
fragment colors from the singlesampled image. In other words, the
opposite of a resolve operation should be automatically performed at the
start of the render pass. This change refers to this operation as
"unresolve".
The goal of this extension is to allow tiling GPUs to always keep
multisampled data on tile memory and only ever load/store singlesampled
data. The latter is achieved by using a subpass resolve attachment and
setting storeOp of the multisampled color attachment to DONT_CARE. This
change achieves the former by using an initial subpass that uses the
resolve attachment as input attachment, draws into the multisampled
color attachment and sets loadOp of said attachment to DONT_CARE.

Vulkan: Disallow loadOp=LOAD for MSRTT depth/stencil textures
EXT_multisampled_render_buffer2 specifies that depth/stencil textures
are expected to be in a perpetual state of invalidated, except during
rendering. This change makes sure that they never use loadOp=LOAD.
Additionally fixes a bug where clears applied to MSRTT depth/stencil
textures didn't take effect because they were applied to the
multisampled image (since the resolved image was not given to the render
target).

Vulkan: Use current commandBuffer pointer
We were using a passed in commandBuffer in
ImageHelper::flushStagedUpdates which became invalid during the process
of handling the flush upon which subsequent uses could cause problems
when threading is enabled (and maybe when it's not as well, just harder
to see.)
Have ImageHelper::flushStagedUpdates use the current
OutsideRenderPassCommandBuffer and the code will use the proper one.

Vulkan: Fool-proof usage of GL and VK level indices
Using boxed types, this change allows the compiler to catch errors when
a level index in one space (e.g. GL) is mistakenly used in another space
(e.g. VK).
This change uncovered a number of bugs due to such mistakes which are
fixed.
Mistakes are still possible when the index is explicitly extracted, for
example to be given to a Vulkan command, or when it's created, for
example when retrieved from gl::ImageIndex::getLevelIndex. Future work
can include using gl::LevelIndex in gl::ImageIndex directly to alleviate
the latter at least.

Feedback Loop Redesign 3/3: Remove feedback loop tracking.
We now we detect feedback loops by tracking the Framebuffers that the
Texture is bound to. We still have the old tracking method that counts
sampler and image bindings in the code as well.
This CL removes the old front-end tracking for feedback loops. It's no
longer used by any back-ends. This removal should reduce CPU overhead
around Texture and Program binding changes. Reverts the image binding
tracking to the simpler scheme that tracks if a Texture has ever been
bound as an Image. This should practically have little or no perf
effect and we can reinstate some simpler tracking in the future if
required.

Vulkan: Fix render-to-texture simultaneously bound to two FBOs
If a texture is simultaneously attached to two FBOs, one where it's a
normal texture and another where it's multisampled-render-to-texture,
different render targets must be created for it.
If a texture is simultaneously attached to two FBOs, both as
multisampled-render-to-texture but with different sample counts, two
implicit multisampled images need to be created as well as different
render targets.

(similar to EXT_external_objects) while specifying the Vulkan create and
usage flags used to create that image. This can be used by the

Vulkan: Squash Texture+ImageView Serial and improve caching.
Previously we regenerated TextureSerial on Texture state changes such
as base/max level changes. This caused ANGLE to update descriptor sets
even though it was using the same image view handles. This change
instead uses an ImageViewSubresourceSerial which includes both a
serial for the ImageView and a 32-bit packed subresource range. The CL
speeds up NBA2k because ANGLE no longer writes new descriptors
for Texture max level changes. Local testing showed up to a 40% speedup.
Also adds a regression test with a counter for the number of descriptor
set writes in a frame.
This change will also be useful in upcoming changes that track Image
serials in the RenderPass.

TextureVk has a state change we can give a VkSampler a unique serial.
The serial is unique to this VkSampler and repeated state changes
will fetch the same Serial from the SamplerCache. This allows for
more cache hits.
We store the the new Serial together with the VkSampler in a
SamplerHelper class and store references to a SamplerHelper in
SamplerVk and TextureVk instead of the VkSampler directly.
In a follow-up change we will improve image view caching by also
improving how we store serials for ImageViews.

Vulkan: Refactor ImageViewHelper serials.
Instead of storing a dictionary of serials to specific image views
we now store a single 32-bit serial combined with subresource info.
The serials combined with a subresource info (level/layer) gives a
unique identifier for each ImageView in the ImageViewHelper for the
descriptor set cache and the Framebuffer cache.
Also moves ImageView serial allocation to initialization and release.
This means we no longer need to use "getAssign" methods and instead
we use a few init methods to ensure the serials stay allocated.

Vulkan: Move Resource Serial gen into Renderer.
Putting Serial allocation in the Renderer allows the Helper
classes to manage allocating its own Serial. The init functions for
ImageViewHelper only have access to a vk::Context/RendererVk, not a
ContextVk. This will be updated in a future CL.
Re-uses the Serial Type X-Macro to do more code generation.
Serial allocation now uses an atomic because of its now Renderer
shared location.

Vulkan: Implement GL_EXT_multisampled_render_to_texture
This change allows the use of resolve attachments in the Vulkan backend.
GL_EXT_multisampled_render_to_texture is implemented using this feature.
The infrastructure for specifying resolve attachments is designed with
eventual support for GL_EXT_multisampled_render_to_texture2 in mind as
well as optimizations to glBlitFramebuffer() and multisampled
backbuffers.
Proper support for glRenderbufferStorageMultisampledEXT is still missing
from this change. All tests use this for the depth/stencil attachment
and don't read back the data. Currently, the depth/stencil attachment
is created as a normal multisampled image.

Capture/Replay: Fix GetTexImage on Luminance
GetTexImageANGLE and GetRenderbufferImageANGLE use ReadPixels to
pull texture data. Luminance is not a renderable format, so it is

Vulkan: Generate mipmap in compute
An initial implementation based on AMD's FFX SPD (Single Pass
Downsampler).
Apart from requiring STORAGE_IMAGE support for the image format, the
following limitations are in place due to FFX SPD:

- Image must be single-sampled

Vulkan: Improve RenderTargetVk's getImage interface
Prior to this change, RenderTargetVk had getImage() and
getImageForWrite(). This change introduces getImageForCopy() and
renames getImage() to getImageForRenderPass().
Currently, all three functions do the same thing. However, with
upcoming changes the semantics will be different:
- getImageForRenderPass(): This is the image used as the non-resolve
attachment. When resolve attachments are introduced, there will be a
corresponding getResolveImageForRenderPass().
- getImageForCopy(): When GL_EXT_multisampled_render_to_texture is
implemented, this will return the image that owns the data.
- getImageForWrite(): Similar to getImageForCopy(), but should set
mContentDefined. This is currently missing, and is a bug that will be
resolved in a follow up.
This split change gets the mechanical rename out of the way to make
future changes simpler.

Vulkan: Fix RTs attached to textures with non-0 mip
Cleared confusion between GL level indices and VK level indices by
adding the corresponding suffix to variables and function arguments. A
handful of places that sent one index and expected the other are fixed.
A couple more places needed this adjustment that were missed in the
first CL. Also included a test to provoke those situations.
The conversion between the two is given by:

Add support for VK_KHR_sampler_ycbcr_conversion
This adds ability for applications to import Android Hardware Buffers
(AHBs) as OpenGL images which in turn can be sampled from and/or
written.
This was specifically tested with the common use case of importing a
buffer created by an media decoder and using that as a texture source to
include that video content on the screen. Tested with:
- Angry Birds 2 video player (for ads) requires YUV conversion.

Vulkan: Fix mipmap generation and level redefinition
When generating mipmaps, the non-base levels are redefined to be
compatible. mRedefinedLevels was not updated to take this into account,
resulting in invalid copies to the image.
Additionally, noted a few spots where ImageDesc is used to respecify the
image, but those are not up-to-date when the backend functions are
called. Changed those to directly get the necessary information from
the allocated image.

Vulkan: Remove emulated clears before mipmap generation
If the image is recreated for mipmap generation, and if the format used
is emulated, clears are automatically staged for all levels of the
image. Since non-base levels will be completely rendered to (using
blit, so not through the staging buffer), there is no point in
performing these clears for non-base levels. This change drops those
clears.
Note that another change will drop the clear for base level if detecting
that a future update will supersede it, for example because the base
level is being copied from the old image.

Vulkan: Use GPU path for copy to sRGB textures
To avoid creating aliasing views for sRGB textures, the ImageCopy
texture will do/undo sRGB transformation such that the final result is
as-if both source and destination views were linear.
Possible future optimizations:
- If either of source or destination has already been created with the
MUTABLE flag, i.e. has a linear view already available, that can be
used.
- If destination is sRGB but not renderable while its corresponding
linear format is, and if the image is already created with the MUTABLE
flag, using the linear view would allow the copy to go through the GPU
instead of the CPU.

Vulkan: Better handling of texture level redefinition
If a texture level is being redefined, there are two scenarios to
consider:
1. The level is outside the base/max level, for which the image was
allocated.
2. The level is within the base/max level, but it's being redefined to a
different size or format.
In the former case, we simply don't need to release the image.
The latter case itself has two possibilities:
2.1. There is only one level in the image.
2.2. There are multiple levels in the image.
In case 2.1, the whole image is being redefined (as it has only a single
level), so the image can (and should) be released. Prior to this
change, this behavior was adopted for all cases. This change retains
this behavior for this case only.
In case 2.2, the texture is becoming incomplete. However, the image
shouldn't yet be released because another one of its mips may be bound
to a framebuffer. In such cases as glCopyTexImage2D(), that framebuffer
may in fact be the source of the copy operation (which would be
destroyed if the image is released). If the base/max level of the
texture doesn't change, redefining the level and making the texture
incomplete doesn't make the framebuffer incomplete; this is achieved at
the same time by not releasing the image.
This change ensures that updates to the redefined level are staged in
cases 1 and 2.2.

Vulkan: Fix RTs attached to textures with non-0 mip
Cleared confusion between GL level indices and VK level indices by
adding the corresponding suffix to variables and function arguments. A
handful of places that sent one index and expected the other are fixed.
The conversion between the two is given by:

Fix copy texture to sRGB in ANGLE/VK
Like the GL backend, use the CPU copy path rather than the draw path
when the target is sRGB.

Fix copy subtexture to GL_RGB9_E5 in ANGLE/VK
When copying via glTexSubImage2D to a non-renderable format, GL_RGB9_E5,
ANGLE's TextureVk::copySubTextureImpl will use the read-back and copy
method. This path was ignoring the source offset in the source area
computation.
Fixes the following WebGL tests:

Vulkan: Implement EXT_texture_format_sRGB_override
Implemented support for EXT_texture_format_sRGB_override
This is done by creating new imageviews for textures with sRGB
overridden that reinterpret the format to its sRGB counterpart.
As preparation for this, textures that use this feature are
reallocated with VK_IMAGE_CREATE_MUTABLE_FORMAT_BIT. This will
have a performance cost for textures that use this feature, but
should have no performance cost for regular textures, since they
will not have this bit set.

Vulkan: Defer framebuffer clears.
This works by storing the deferred clears in the ImageHelper's staging
buffers. We apply the deferred clears onto the RenderPass right before
we begin to draw. Storing the clears in the ImageHelper solves problems
where we clear GL Textures in a Framebuffer and then unbind the
Textures and sample from them. Or do other commands like CopyTexImage.
Note that because the staging buffer clears only handle full-image
clears we need to immediately apply some scissored clears where before
we would use the RP. This should be a pretty rare occurrence and it is
possible to optimize that in the future.
Reduces the RenderPass count in the Manhattan "frame 10" trace from max
22 to max 20. May improve perf slightly on Android or may have effects
too small to measure. Should not regress performance.

Vulkan: honor compressed texture block width/height
When a texture's base or max mipmap level is changed, ANGLE creates a
new VkTexture (and potentially copies lots of data old->staging
buffer->new). However, ANGLE wasn't looking at the texture's format,
and for a compressed format ANGLE wasn't looking at/using the texture
format's compressed block width and height.

Vulkan: use fine grain stage for buffer barriers
We are using VK_PIPELINE_STAGE_ALL_COMMANDS_BIT for
mGlobalMemoryBarrierStages, which is used for both src and dst. This
will cause a full pipeline stall whenever a buffer object introduces a
barrier. This CL will let the caller pass in the specific stage it
will be used for, allowing us to track write and read stage dependencies
separately and request the corresponding barriers.

Fix clearing compressed textures with Vulkan backend
When making sure a texture's data is initialized in ANGLE, it
is illegal to attempt to clear it when using the Vulkan backend.
The Vulkan spec, regarding vkCmdClearColorImage, mentions that:
"image must not have a compressed or depth/stencil format"
The proper way of initializing the memory of a compressed image
in Vulkan is to do a buffer to image copy instead. This was added
to ImageHelper::stageRobustResourceClear() so that it may now
handle compressed textures properly.

Vulkan: Add a sampler cache.
This uses a packed sampler description to re-use samplers for multliple
VkImages. The samplers will persist for the lifetime of RendererVk. In
the future we could look at doing cache eviction for large object
counts.
Reduces the active VkSampler cache in Manhattan from over 1200 to 9.
Also should reduce the number of VkSamplers used with Chrome.

Vulkan: Clean up robust and emulated image clears.
This change consolidates image clears in multiple places into a single
site in ImageHelper initialization. It adds support for appending clear
image commands as well as prepend (the default). We prepend clears
because image initialization happens after data upload.
The Vulkan robust clear path now works like the other back-ends. The
change flushed out a bug where partially uninitialized CopyTexImage was
not correctly initializing a texture before triggering a full resource
clear. Texture::copyImage now uses a workaround where we first init the
image before clearing it. After the init we upload the new data.
We'll use the appending clears path when implementing deferred clears.

Vulkan: Enable CPU only buffers for PBOs
Add support for a CPU only buffer for PBOs that serve as
the destination for all host operations like MapBuffer*.
This removes the latency caused by waiting for the in-flight
GPU commands to be complete before handing over the buffer
to the app.
This change removes a ~6ms wait/sleep on the first call to
MapBuffer* in each frame of Manhattan

Vulkan: Observe staging buffer changes in TextureVk.
This switches where we notify the Texture class that the back-end has
a dirty staging buffer. Previously we notified in every possible code
site in TextureVk. Now we notify in a single centralized location in
the staging buffer. This will allow us to stash clears in the staging
buffer in the FramebufferVk class via RenderTargetVk. And ultimately
let us defer clears to fix Manhattan's rendering feedback loop.

In generateMipmaps, remove hard coded depth of 1, shift depth
like every other dimension.
Remove MipmapsForTexture3D test pixel value check, in es spec3.2 8.14.4
"No particular filter algorithm is required, though a box filter is recommended."

Vulkan: Add robust init for NULL texture image.
In gl::ReadPixels(), ValidateReadPixels() will try to
flush staged updates before readPixels. In the case
where a texture was initialized with null RGBA data,
no Framebuffer dirty bits are set, and thus the staged
clear would never be flushed from the staged updates.
1. Add robust init in TextureVk::initImage to ensure
image is initialized.

Vulkan: Sanitize Images & Buffers with non-zero values.
Only enabled for specific tests at the moment. This CL allows our tests
to sanitizes memory for the robust resource access extension. It is
quite slow so should not be enabled by default.
Only works for 1 level 2D color textures and buffers. Makes several
flaky robust resource initialization tests consistently fail.
Controlled via an angle::Feature in FeaturesVk.
It works by initializing memory to an abitrary non-zero value:
- if newly allocated memory is mappable, we map it in init and set it
- if a buffer or texture can be a transfer destination, we use a
staging resource
- otherwise we don't attempt to initialize the resource.

Vulkan: Command graph linearization (Step 2).
ES 2.0 is feature complete.
Passes all of the angle_end2end_tests with the new linear command
recording method. Also runs the T-Rex benchmark without any obvious
glitches. Likely has issues with creating too many RenderPasses. ES3
is mostly untouched.

Vulkan: Command graph linearization (Step 1).
This initial prototype introduces a new feature to the Vulkan back-end
that disables the deferred command recording. The intent is to have a
lower CPU overhead during submission calls which currently walk a DAG.
The feature is not complete. Currently it only passes the ANGLE
SimpleOperationTests. Moreover it is extremely simple and only allows
use of one command buffer at a time. In the future we'll allow open
command buffers for recording outside and inside render pass commands
at the same time. We'll also support collapsing RenderPasses together
for some use cases.
Currently the prototype only passes "SimpleOperationTest". There are
quite a few unimplemented features like queries, XFB, etc.

Vulkan: Make ContextVk own ResourceUseList.
This moves the resource use tracking functionality out of CommandGraph.
Making the list a separate class helps the implementation avoid tricky
circular include problems.

Vulkan: Add ResourceUseList helper.
This abstracts away the ResourceUse tracking from CommandGraph. Pulling
it out will allow us to more easily swap resource use tracking into
ContextVk. The command graph is eventually going away so we need to
move functionality out of CommandGraph.
