Charlie Lao 1e1c9d9d 2023-08-11T15:16:26 Pack and reduce Program::mProgramInput size Right now mProgramInput is std::vector<sh::ShaderVariable>. It really only need a subset of ShaderVariable struct. This CL adds a ProgramInput struct so that we can add data members that actually required. This CL also makes bools into bitfield and some variables to uint16_t to further compact the size. This CL also groups the data memebers other than string to basicDataTypeStruct which only contains basic data types and the entire struct is memcpied during program binary load and save. This not just reduces number of memcpy calls, but also improves reliability so that when someone adds a new member into the struct, it will automatically load/save correctly. Charlie Lao 152cf62b 2023-08-15T13:43:12 Tightly pack LinkedUniform by using int16_t There is a check of vector size when we link uniforms and the maximum vector size is 4096 due to we clamp the maxUniformBlockSize to 64KB. In reality, if we exceeds this number, program link will take really long time and then hit failure. So there is no real need to keep all the variables in 32 bit integer. This CL changes to 16 bit integer. Further, sh::BlockMemberInfo and ActiveVariable data members are embeded into LinkedUniform struct as well so that the unused variables can be removed and data can be tightly packed. This also makes LinkedUniform easier to maintain as a simple struct with basic data types. With this change, LinkedUniform size is reduced from 108 bytes down to 60 bytes, 48 bytes reduction. Given some apps has 200-ish uniforms, this CL reduces 48 bytes x 200 = ~9K memory just for uniforms per program (which goes through hash compute and decompression and file reads). Uniform can be quite large as shown in some app traces and this causes performance problem even when program memory has a cache hit. This CL flattens gl::LinkedUniform structure by embedding sh::ShaderVariable data members so that we can remove unrelated members and also prepare for further optimization in future CLs. The whole design is that we start a disjoint query in D3D11 at the first timestamp request and keep it continuously running in current context. Only end it and read it back when the user queries if there is a disjoint. We cache the frequency and assume it doesn't change. For the first timestamp, we create a temporary D3D disjoint query and end it so we have a frequency to convert the ticks to nanoseconds. Jamie Madill 4a2446c6 2021-10-19T11:55:17 Vulkan: Implement robust shader outputs. In this CL we change ANGLE to pass the mask of missing shader outputs down to pipeline creation. We then use the color mask bits to block SwiftShader writing to unused outputs. This fixes the undefined behaviour present in Genshin Impact. Note that the other GLES implementations we tested don't seem to modify outputs even if they're unused. It was easier to mask out the color attachments in initialize rather than set up the pipeline desc to mask out the attachments. This was because we manipulate the color mask in a fairly complex way before we initialize the pipeline desc. One bit flag controls one element in the gl_ClipDistance array. The writing to the disabled element in vertex shader will be ignored, and turned into zero assignment instead. - Direct3D/Mobile GL: Not implemented yet. - Added ClipDistanceTest to gl_tests and compiler unittests. - GL_APPLE_clip_distance is a subset of GL_EXT_clip_cull_distance, so GL_EXT_clip_cull_distance could be implemented in future if needed. Brandon Schade 6c56c579 2020-01-21T11:08:36 Add Android boot animation and rounding error test This introduces an end2end test that makes the same GLES1 calls as Android's default boot animation. The test uses images of much smaller sizes, but we do the same thing with the images as the original code (it uses one image as a mask and moves the other along behind it). The original default boot animation code can be found here: https://android.googlesource.com/platform/frameworks/base/+/refs/heads/master/cmds/bootanimation/BootAnimation.cpp#422 This change also implements glTexParameterx since the default boot animation requires it. This function is part of OES_FIXED_POINT. This also includes a test to check for int to floating point cast errors when using GL_TEXTURE_CROP_RECT_OES. Jamie Madill bd4e756a 2020-02-17T09:49:45 Const-ify the validation layer. Enforces that the validation layers should be working pretty much read- only with the exeption of updating caches. Requires a few tricks: - updates EP code generation to add 'const' to pointer parameters - enables a kludge const_cast to enable the robust query extension - makes some members of Framebuffer mutable to work around syncState - makes 'is' queries and other methods in Context/State const Will allow us to more safely expose the no_error extension. Jamie Madill e167f76b 2019-11-06T16:51:55 Capture/Replay: Pass gl::State to capture functions. This replaces passing gl::Context. Using a gl::State directly will more easily let the mid-execution replay code pass a mocked gl::State instead of having to modify the real underlying Context state. For example when capturing pixel pack and unpack parameters the states could not be overridden without changing the gl::Context itself. Similarly when capturing client side data. Also moves a query parameter info function into queryutils so it can be accessible to the State-based capture. Refactoring change only.
